Rumor has it mom used to wear this outfit with a nice plaid shirt...
Tristan is having a good week. He learned to roll from belly to back, after which mom and dad cheered and scared him into crying. He can't quite go the other way yet, those pesky arms get in the way. He got a new toy- a Jumperoo- such creative toys names. He alternately LOVES it and HATES it. He had pears, which are a LOT better than sweet potatoes. He went bowling again, and somehow slept through almost an entire game. His cousins came over to play last night, and he had lots of fun talking to them. I didn't think to take any pictures, sadly. He's finally starting to grow some hair.
Right now he's playing on the floor and talking, loudly, to all his toys. He's just so great. There aren't many pictures this week, but the few I took are up. Click the link to the right. |

Weekly Update |
His first words are gonna be: "Damn it Scout, don't lick the baby!"
Another week already! He's growing up so fast. He's almost 6 months old- I took the week 23 pictures this week. He's sitting up sooo much better. He'll still tip over, but he holds out much longer before doing so. He still isn't rolling over, but I can't seem to find the motivation he needs to go over. He's super super cuddly now, he holds on and snuggles his little face into your neck.
Today we gave him sweet potatoes. He wasn't really sure if he liked them or not, but he did like playing with the spoon. I also took him bowling with me today. He was so good and happy. He's started to care if I leave the room. He doesn't really pitch a fit, but he does care. I hope leaving him at daycare does not turn into an ordeal. Also, we *really* have to get him to sleep in his own bed- soon!

Weekly pictures |
New pictures are up ! I missed taking pictures on Thursday, but made up for it yesterday. Oops. We bought him a sippy cup this morning to practice. He likes to gnaw on it, but if he accidently gets a sip of water he makes a face that says "What the hell is this crap? Are you trying to poison me?" He's very very close to rolling over. The thing that inspires him to try? The dog. He wants SO BAD to get to her. She, of course, is more than happy to let him, so it's a challenge to keep her enough out of reach for him to try to roll over.
It is 7 pm and he has yet to take a nap today. |

Mmm cereal is good ! |
This weekend we gave Tristan his first bit of cereal. He thought it was the best thing he'd ever done his WHOLE LIFE. Giggling and squealing and not really eating much at all, but it sure was great! The second attempt he figured out that he could actually EAT the stuff, and ate and ate and ate. He thought it would be even better if he could get his hands in there too. There are more pictures here if you're interested. |

Five months old.. |
Tristan will be 5 months old on Wednesday. It's just flying by. He suddenly seems like such a big boy to us. He sits by himself for brief periods at a time before leeeeaaaaaning over or flopping backwards. He can take a bath sitting up too, but he can't really reach the water to splash. I put him in a pair of his cousin River's overalls the other day, and he looked like a boy, not a baby. I took a picture, but it kinda cut my head off, oops.
Yesterday we went out camping and picnicing. His cousins are camping for Labor Day, we just spent the day there. We had a picnic, played pass the baby around, the cousins sang some silly songs, andwe saw a herd of buffalo.
There are LOTS of great new pictures at www.harsma.net - be sure to look in both August and September. |
