9 months!
Tristan had his 9 month check up today. He's 20lbs (50%) and 28 inches
(45%). His head is in the 90th%. He got two more shots, but took it
very well. He's got 5 teeth, he army man crawls, he pulls himself to
standing every chance he gets. He works hard at figuring everything
out and you can just see the wheels turn in his head when he plays.
He's learning to do the pincher grasp, and tests everything by
delicately scratching it with one little finger. He's broken my
favorite glasses twice. He LOVES the kitties who don't love him back
and could care less about the dog who wants nothing more than to love
on him. He always wants to hold two things in one hand, even when they
are things like balls, that clearly won't fit in one hand. When he
holds things in both hands he always has to bang them together. Today
he had a sock in each hand and was happily, silently, banging them
together. He babbles all the time. It's like someone flipped a switch
one day and suddenly he won't shut up. Dadadadada still CLEARLY has
something to do with Daddy. He's getting good at repeating sounds back
at us. He makes kissy sounds back at you. He eats a lot. Between 5 and
bedtime (usually 8 or a little later) he'll eat a jar of food, a bowl
of cereal, and 12 or 14 oz of formula. He's a happy happy little guy.
Lots of pictures at www.harsma.net.

There are now videos of Tris online! (Well, there is one.) It's on the picture gallery under the month of January. Some people are having problems viewing it, let me know if you are, and I can always email it to you.

Goodbye 2005!

What a great year it was! Nothing could have prepared us for having a baby. It's just so wonderful and crazy and busy all at once. Tristan is awesome. He's such a great baby.

He's got 5 teeth now, 2 on top, 3 on bottom. I think he's working on a couple more top ones, but he won't let me look. He is fully mobile. He doesn't really crawl in a traditional manner, instead he army man crawls. He's getting pretty fast. He's finally figured out that he can move where he wants to instead of waiting on us. It's time to get that baby gate installed! He spends a lot of time pulling himself up to stand and chasing after power cords.

Christmas was a lot of fun. Grandpa gave him this cool house with doorbells, and a mailbox and a radio. It was an instant hit. Santa gave him this big cube that has lots of fun ways to play with blocks. He didn't really get the unwrapping part, but was certainly thrilled by the appearance of all the TOYS. Grandma gave him a little remote control creature that giggles (sorry, no picture of it, here's a link to buy one though) and he is TERRIFIED of it. It's the first thing that scares him. Our living room has turned into a toy store, even though I swore it wouldn't.

I got a new camera for Christmas so hopefully there will be even more pictures to post next year. As least until I get bored with it!

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year, full of everything they want.
Love, Lisa, Mike, And Tristan
